The Book opens – “I am Ur-Rachman the compassionate.”

The Exceedingly Compassionate, The Exceedingly Beneficent, The Exceedingly Gracious (to all of humanity and all creatures)

Receiving Divine Love

Ur-Rachman tells us of Compassion without an object.(1) “My Love flows outward and needs no response.” (5) – “Mine is the love which does not come from another but from within.”

We hear these words and are moved toward the sense of the purity of this type of love. Can I, a modest seeker, get closer to this form of Compassion? Am I able to stand in the place of objective love? Okay, here is a thought. You know when you love during the day. Maybe it is simple – maybe it is only a flower, or a pet, or a friend. The mystery of this compassion and love is presented to us each day all day long.

Next time it happens (in a few moments) – watch NOT the object that seems to induce this love, but notate the sensations in you. Where, in you, does this vibratory sensation arise? Carefully notate. Get out your inner map. Grab your mapping tools and notate the location. YOU WILL want to get back here – Right? One who is practiced at orienteering (using a map) can find their way back. Okay, how do I really do this? (You know the answer!) Practice. If you want to get better at it… then, practice more. One is not lucky, one is trained or untrained. That is all. Trained or unTrained.

Ur-Rachman shows us the Platonian ideal. We can feel where we might go, he shows the purity of that state – gradually, we can reflect a small portion of the mighty mirror.

The Mirror of Compassion

The Mirror of Compassion

We learn more about the possibility of Unconditional Compassion and Unconditional Love. From time to time we get a whiff – we follow the scent of what it might be. We know it is there – the standard bearer is Ur-Rachman. Ur-Rachman has placed a staff in the ground against the wind of illusion. “I am… the compassionate” we are told. We look and we can see.

There is the curious interplay between giving Unconditional Love and Compassion and receiving the same. We learn that the cycle of giving and receiving is a delicate play. We can only receive such a gift from the universe if we gift it forth, with no wish for compensation.

The machine reacts.

“Do you believe unconditional love,” it is asked… The machine responds – “That depends.”

In the world of the sleeping machine, there is always a bargain. What do I get? Okay, I will express a bit of Unconditional Love, mate, but prey tell – What then do I get? Yes, I am willing to sacrifice… but, I get paid right?

We are stuck in the never ending cycle of finding and performing the Act of Unconditional Love each day – that is the form of Prayer that we seek. When we touch on it … maybe only by accident, we find that help is there, that it has always been there.
