Help
Real help is not someone doing something for us, for a lessening of our personal suffering and struggles. Real help has no calming effect – quite the contrary – it makes the machine squirm itself into evolution-by-reflex.
In previous chapters we learned that the human biological machine is a distinct electrical field (see Chapter 10), then we discover that the essential self is also a different and equally distinct electrical field (see Chapter 12). It is the interplay of these two fields that is the core of the transformational process. When the machine is in the awaken state, through application of our essential attention, the essential self begins to come awake.
Here in Chapter 13, Help, we acknowledge that our true higher ideals reside in the essential self. We start to learn about how to make the outer and inner as one. Before we are introduced to the awakening process, we have glimpses of the higher, but no sustained method of reaching them. We can through the repeated process of awakening the machine bring forth the essential self as the true leader. The master emerges.
Gradually a new unity is found, I and the Father are one.
