Chapter 06

The Illusion of Time

As we upscale into the macrodimensions, we soon discover that what really prevents us from living macrodimensional life in the timeless, eternal state is our extreme psychological dependence upon the ordinary flow of time as measured by clocks; it is hard to accept time as a function of space and not a linear flow through events.

The gods confound the man who first found out how to distinguish hours! Confound him, too, who in this place set up a sun-dial, to cut and hack my days so wretchedly into small pieces.                                  Plautus (c. 200 b.c.)

Consider then, how and why did the flow of time wash upon mankind like a torrent forever covering us? Only in the last few centuries has mankind developed the sundial to hack apart the day and to measure the seasons more and more accurately. But, now time has penetrated into every nook and cranny of our lives. We honor those who are of great precision. They were on ‘time.’ We were exact – to the second! When you study the history of the creations of clocks and their evolution to more accuracy than the average person can every avail themselves of, you notice that it was an agreed upon assumption of how to measure time. In fact, it was an agreed upon assumption to even measure time.

But, that is a different story, we sit now with time as a measure upon which we all ‘agree.’

As we step across the border from temporal existence into the first of those spaces of the macrodimensions, we notice that the imposition of time onto our voyaging process, is a needless addition, not a tool needed in this land. We mark time in a different manner. A moment in time is marked by a location in the dimensional space we inhabit.

The Work is a way of life in the eternal state. We walk away from the primate comfort of temporal existence, but, we gain a freedom of insight into new vistas.
