HBM Chapter 17

Warming of the Soul

Growth of the soul requires a form of human sacrifice, the exact nature of which has long been distorted in mainstream thought. Evolutionary barriers – flaws in the diamond – are ground down by abrasion.

We are a diamond in the rough. We are a diamond surrounded by a matrix of life and human concern. As our work begins and we place our Self next to other voyagers on the path, this matrix is rubbed off, it is weakened and the diamond is revealed.

In this chapter E.J. Gold walks us forward to work in a community of seekers. As we work together, we are not allowed to seek the diamond of transformation and be allowed to keep our human values and concerns. We must sacrifice our human nature for our celestial nature. We must sacrifice our focus of attention from our human side to our hidden diamond.

Take a moment, rest your attention, gently and with adoration, on the beloved. Hold the growing soul in the hands of your attention. Let it grow. For a moment nothing else matters, no task awaits greater than this. Hold it, for a moment longer.

Practice the art of Warming of your Soul.
